Contraindications
Omatril Tablets Progestogens should be avoided in patients with a history of liver tumours, with genital or breast cancer (unless progestogen are being used in the management of these conditions), severe arterial disease, undiagnosed vaginal bleeding and acute porphyria. Progestogens should not be used if there is a history during pregnancy of idiopathic jaundice, severe pruritus, or pemphigoid gestations. Precautions: Progestogens should be used with caution in conditions that may worsen with fluid retention e.g. epilepsy, hypertension, migraine, asthma, or cardiac dysfunction and in those susceptible to thromboembolism (particular caution with high dose, history of depression. Progestogens can decrease glucose tolerance and patients with diabetes should be monitored closely.
Indications
Omatril Tablets Disturbance of menstrual cycle.
Dosage
Adults: Disturbance of menstrual cycle: 1 tab daily on days 14-25 of the cycle. The first day of the cycle is the first day of menstruation. Children: Not recommended.
Interactions
Rifamycin, anticoagulants, antidepressants, antidiabetics, anti-epileptics, antifungals, antivirals, aprepitant, barbiturates, bosentan, cyclosporin, diuretics, dopaminergics, lipid-regulating drugs, muscle relaxants.
