Stomacol Tablets Indications
Epigastric sense of fullness, upper abdominal distention, regurgitation. Nausea and vomiting.
Dosage Of Stomacol Tablets
ORAL: Adults: All indications: 10-20 mg orally 3-4 times daily before meals; max 80 mg daily. Re-evaluate need for continued treatment after 4 wk. Children: Only Nausea & Vomiting: 0.25-0.5 mg/kg body-wt, 3-4 times daily; max 2.4 mg/kg daily. INJECTION: Adults: With chemotherapy 1-40 mg IV (1 mg/kg IV have been used). See literature. Children: Not recommended. RECTAL: Adults & Children: Over 12 yr and body weight over 35 kg: 60 mg twice daily. Children: Body weight 15-35 kg (nausea and vomiting only): 30 mg twice daily; under 15 kg, not recommended.
Advice to Patient
Take oral form 15-30 minutes before meals.
Pharmacokinetics
Absorption: Rapid. Metabolism: Hepatic (rapid and extensive). Bioavailability: Absolute bioavailability: Oral: 15%. IM: 90%. Half-life elimination: 7.5 hrs. Hepatic impairment: 15-23 hrs. Renal impairment: 7.4-20.8 hrs. Time to peak, plasma: 1 hr after dosing. Excretion: Urine (30% of an oral dose). Faeces (66%).
Interactions
Ketoconazole, ritonavir, erythromycin, other potent CYP3A4 inhibitors or drugs that prolong QT interval.
Adverse effects
Rarely, Gl upset, raised serum prolactin, ventricular arrhythmia, sudden cardiac death.
